I got hold of the old Eagle Annual no.3 from 1954 as part of a birthday present for my dad, who loved that comic when he was a kid. Flicking through it I found this, as part of a 'Waldorf and Cecil' strip. Enjoy!

The Eagle comic....of blessed memory. I used to wear my badge with pride. Dan Dare was a favourite and I still remember the excitement when it came out. Different to anything then seen and it was a Rev. who produced it. Amazing that a projector should have appeared in it's pages but when you think about it, it was the only way, apart from the cinema, of seeing moving pictures, so even the pensioners of the day would be aware of film/projectors existence. Not like today. Thirteen years ago I was about to start a show when a young lady of about 18 looked at my projector and asked what it was. She'd never seen one!! Boy, did I feel like an antique.
