I have just been looking at the details of an old British film on the Internet Movie Data base and the reviewer said the film was similar to the old British films shown in the afternoons on Freeview CH8, London Live TV.
Using Google search, I was surprised to see what was on offer, old British features and shorts from the BFI. You lucky London viewers.

Yes amongst those shown has been a great number of Ealing Studios films

Some of the prints appear to have come through my grandmothers mangle. Scratches, incoherent sound and splices thrown in. But there's certainly been some gold amongst the dross.
