Just a short note to all keen 9.5mm film users in the north of the England.

Updated post info.
We had a core meeting setting out our goals and we will be planning a out door trip for a spot of filming and socialising as we had done before. In the past I had arranged canal boat trips and the like which were popular so we look forward to these sort of gatherings.

Congratulaions, Lee and thanks for posting : it is always interesting to know what happens regarding 9.5 or home movie in general in other countries. The main concern at the moment on the continent is that camerastock is no longer available on 30 mt (100 ft) spools (the cheapest way to shoot on 9.5) and that other lengths will probably be quickly sold out. So, those who didn't make a enough stock won't be able to use their camera until Ferrania brings us fresh film back (but that will take several months as Color City will have to make tests before selling new stock). If the resourceful Brits find a solution meanwhile, please, let know the rest of the world.

Hi Dom and thank you. Yes I had been telephoning around as I have just about exhausted my camera stock having got through 900ft in just over a year so feel the need to restock. Another 9-5 film maker kindly gave me enough to finish my titles for all the projects I have been shooting but the lack of camera film is a problem although we have been here before a few times.
Ferrania is the great hope of course but I expect it will take them much effort to get up and running yet, certainly looking at them working so hard cleaning the machinery.

I use 50ft spools loaded in the dark so as not to waist and inch of film.

The 15 mt (50ft) spools seem to be still available but the trouble is, for us who don't live in France, the highly priced post and packing Policy from Color City. I went several time to them (it is very close to Paris) to avoid these extra costs. The last time I went there (before my slipped disc, I was Lucky) I bought the 4 last remaining 30 meters (100 ft) boxes. If it may help someone, I know that Color City has 14 meters reloads for cartriges that are not adverised on the net. So they have still (at least they had when I went there) more of this kind of films than others.

The Northern 9.5 Film Group outing was great fun out and about filming yesterday. We used two cameras a 9-5 Beaulieu with 3 lenses and a Pathe Lido for the close up cutaway shots which was not quite so in your face perhaps along with a couple of Manfrotto tripods. Nothing quite like making your own film on the first amateur film making gauge.
