Probably something really silly to ask but here goes. After i finish a show and switch off at the mains i always click the vol switch on and wait until the track insicator LEDs die out, my beliefe is that i am draing all power out of the system and possibly prolonging the life of any units which may hold power.
Am i right to do this or am i just a nut? [Big Grin]

Probably not making any difference at all but certainly not doing any harm either. What you are doing is draining the residual charge out of the power supply filter capacitors, which will drain out anyway if you don't do it.

Some people gun their engines just before they turn off the car to "blow out the carbon". This doesn't make any difference either, but at least you aren't wasting gas!

(If it feels good, don't let me stop you!)

Hi Tom, The only thing holding any charge in your ST1200 will be the capacitors. Once shut down these will dischage themselves on their own. Dont worry about it just pull the plug.

GS1200 Xenon with Elmo 1.0...great combo along with a 16-CL Xenon for that super bright white light.
