How many times have I mentioned this idea? - A "con" of our own - I live in Jersey, so whether it's up north or in Florida, why not? - Listen, England has their BLACKPOOL, and collectors from all over the country descend there - So, we can have our own gathering and collectors will come "out of the woodwork", to coin a phrase - I say let's strive to acheive this before long - And what better way to exchange ideas, films and "war-stories", than to have a drink, good food and the happy company of us collectors - I vote yeah! - Shorty

I too am very interested in a U.S. film convention. If you get more information together, maybe more collectors will respond. If we can get some potential dates and prices and maybe decide the best place to have it (that collectors will be willing to travel to).

Keep us posted.

Nick.

As the US is so big a flight is generally required why not just come over to England where the conventions are already in place and you won't have the worry about setting one up and risking a lot of money for something people may not attend?

Then during a short stay visits to all the remaining Super 8 haunts could be arranged.

I'd do it if the situation were reversed and it was all happening in America.

I would be interested in a Florida FilmFest. I just live right up the road (Atlanta, Ga.). I would love to travel across the pond to the British CineFest and meet some of the guys and gals, but unfortunately I'm a bit tied up financially at the moment. That could change soon though. [Cool]

Wouldn't it be great to have a real international gathering.

We've had plenty of our fellow collectors from Italy, Greece and Holland attending recently but we haven't had anyone from the States for years that I know of.

Perhaps we should arrange a convention in Greenland - that's about half way!!!
