Hi,

This is my first post on the 8mm forum. I am a 16mm collector and I am working with our local home movie day site in Nashville, TN. I am an avid fan of home movies, and I have a nice collection of them on 16mm. In preparation for home movie day I wanted to add a few more 8mm projectors for use this year.

I had my hopes set on finding an Elmo xenon projector in good working order for the event, but that is probably too rare of a bird to dig up at this stage. Right now I am interested in knowing which halogen based machines are the best for the value. If you are familar with 16mm projectors, I am looking for a projector comparable to an EIKI SSL or an Elmo 16-CL. What models are easy to use, maintain, and have been made reciently enough to be in good shape on the average? Also, what price range would you expect to pay?

Thanks!

Tom Wills

Welcome. Surprised no one has answered you and I am afraid to say my knowledge is sketchy. In the UK I guess my exposure has been to the Elmo GS1200 Xenon and they do crop up from time to time . Price seems to be in the region of £1500 to £2200.
