Sorry guys,
I am so excited! London for the first time, Super 8, its gonna be good! I am bringing a lady friend who is excited too! Although she wasn't excited watching me play GS1200 Xenon versus Halogen vs Bauer T610 vs, etc! Well John and Keith I am sure are going to hear it from her personally! She will then know that I am not the only Super 8 Addict! [Smile]
Ok...I just wanted to start a new post! Its only a month or so away.....

31 days is my maths is correct. Keith's already well into working on the shows so as soon as he can get a rough programme together I'll slap it up.

Hi Mike,
I was planning on attending the October BFCC, but due to the hurricane damage to my house I will now defer until next May. My wife and I had a great time at the last May BFCC, and I can't understand why people like Barry Littlechild try to diminish Keith and John's efforts at the BFCC.
I see Alan Rick is coming over from New York, I envy him as I know you guys will show him a good time, and he will probably get to see Keith Wilton's cinema, which I have yet to visit.
Hope all is well with you, and you are having fun collecting boxes! Alan Rick has been convinced that you are not as sinister looking as your forum photo. Since it will be close to Halloween when he gets there, maybe you should put on a mask and really scare him!

Hi all!
So far it looks like I will be arriving on Thursday morning (red eye) and leave on Monday to go to France!
So everything inbetween has not been set up yet. Saturday BFCC! And then of course I would love to see Keith's Home Cinema, and I would think it would be fun to help set up the screen! Doug would know about this better than I! [Smile]
As the hotels get picked and everything is laid out (I should know in about a week) I will give you the hard details!
Warm beer? The last time I had a warm beer was in Middle School! Made me a little green.....:0

Any collectors interested in a get together on the Thursday evening when Alan's scheduled to arrive? I think a meeting in the "Princess Louise" on High Holborn. This is where we briefly took Doug for a nice warm ale.

I don't know what we're doing with regards to getting the screen up yet but hopefully as we have the smaller Queens Hall we'll be able to get in the afternoon/evening of the Friday and assemble it then. I'll give Alan the instructions and leave him to it!!!

"Princess Louise" is just the other side of Holborn tube station. High Holborn goes across the crossroads with Kingsway/Southampton Row. One of London's most famous pubs and very traditional.

We'll have to finalize nearer the time but if anyone is up for it we'll make it a date. We'll just have to hope Alan's plane arrives in the morning as expected.

Paul

Sorry to hear that you won't be able to make it over to the BFCC this October, I'm sure the whole UK contingent will look forward to meeting up with you both again in May though!

Like you, I can't understand why people have to be so disparaging about events like the BFCC. It is enjoyed by so many that I think the organisers [along with the organisers of all the other events] should be given as much encouragement as possible.

This hobby depends on too small a fan base to start driving wedges in between those that there are. It's a shame to put of potential newbies by giving them the impression that there is animosity between us [Frown] .

On a brighter note though, I shall be having a stall at the October BFCC with Rob Koeling where we will be selling off some of the excess cine stuff that we can bare to be parted with, loads of bargains to be had [Smile] . A bit of shameless advertising never did any one any harm [Roll Eyes] !
