BFCC is only a week away now, I'm getting my credit card warmed up in preparation, and, as an added attraction Rob Koeling and I are having a table there to sell off some [very high quality ] surplus cine films and equipment.
So, who's going? Shall we try to meet up in the projection area at lunch time again? It was great in May to put some faces to names. Perhaps we can add some more mug shots to the BFCC web site .

Anyway I can convince you chaps to hold next years BFCC here in Omaha?
Rik, if you have extra space in your over sized trunk please let me know. Or better yet, if you see a clean used copy of the Derann Pearl Harbor attack cutdown in scope pick one up for me. That would give me a good excuse to shop for a scope and bracket.
Sounds like a great time, wish I could make it. How long do these shows usually last, one day, two?

Have a great time in England Alan! You are in for a real treat if this is your first visit. London is a fabulous place, but get the boys to show you some real English scenery, make them drive you through the Cotswold villages on your way up to Derann. If you can , get to Henley-on-thames ( just outside Windsor and about 30 minutes from the BFCC).

We may have a bit of a get together on Thursday evening assuming Alan arrives in time and he fancies a bit of Super 8 chat (and possibly a show). Princess Louise on High Holborn if anyone can make it so drop me an email if interested.
John Cook, the BFCC occurs twice annually and runs for a day. Just an excuse to put on some film shows and get as many dealers and collectors together as possible. Shows this time will be 8mm, 16mm, 35mm and even a video projection to supplement the "From Technicolor To Technirama" talk/lecture. It will also include a tribute to Janet Leigh and Christopher Reeve. Video on a 24ft screen? 'Fraid so.

How about a 35mm 'Scope reel from Superman?
The video projection to which I refer will not be the usual sort of stuff you'll see elsewhere where someone puts in a disc, navigates the menus and selects a scene to show, then when finished inserts another disc; this will be a specially produced production compiled by Mr. Wilton with narration by Ken Locke. Assuming Keith gets it finished in time of course. And also assuming our dry run with the video projector a few weeks ago at the Town Hall was accurate.
And I've just got a rough programme from Mr. Wilton for me to slap up here. Now don't all get too excited!
11.15am Concorde One Year On: We look back at the early days with two short 16mm documentaries, a Super 8 newsreel and a working toy model... mind your toes!
12.00pm Technical film historian, Grant Loban reveals the secrets behind his famous charts and posters published by the BFI.
12.15pm Colour From Black & White: The Technicolor Story Part One. Presented by Ken Locke and Keith Wilton.
1pm Cinema closed for lunch - time to visit the dealers.
2pm New and Recent Releases. Please note due to the failure of the film labs to deliver certain items we are re-showing one of the items from our previous convention. There will be a brief pause within the show for the change over to the 'Scope format. The show will end with a 'Scope Concorde item issued some years ago by Derann.
3.15pm Colour From Black & White - Part 2: The Kodachrome Show. This includes original camera footage from 1945.
3.45pm Double-bill: Tribute to Janet Leigh and Colour From Black & White Part 3 including VistaVision & Technirama. Specially prepared DVD programme presented on our 24ft screen! Positively no changing of discs (and no hitches, we hope!) etc! Will you need glasses? Decide for yourself! A special one off presentation by Keith Wilton and Ken Locke.
4.30pm Double-bill 35mm Technicolor cartoon show.
4.50pm 35mm tribute to Christopher Reeve. Please note: print has faded - definitely not Technicolor.
5.15pm 35mm Technicolor 'Scope reel from "The Battle of Britain". Just hear those Hurricanes roar down the hall! (Apologies to Paul Adsett but we refer to the planes!!!) Superb print. Shot on Eastman stock, printed by Technicolor.
