Following a link provided by Andreas, our resident expert at odd European releases, on the "Excalibur" review post, I discovered that "Keoma" had been released in Italy by Silma (same company as the projectors?). Andreas (our one of our members from Italy), have you ever seen a print, or a cut-down? How is it? Keoma is one of my favorite films of all times...

Andreas, thanks for the informations. I was curious about Silma as my first sound projector in the mid-seventies was the S233. It's totally burnt out now but I keep it for sentimental reasons (and some of its pieces were used to refurbish a Bauer T180 given to me by my in-laws). Well, I guess I have to add "Keoma" to my list of "Holy Grails" now...

Hi, there. I can confirm the company "Sil.Ma" for film distriburion was based in Rome and had nothing to do with "Silma Italia S.p.A.", based in Turin (a suburb named Rivoli), used to manufature projectors.
As for "Keoma", yes, it was released in full-length version: I've never seen myself a print of this title on Super 8, but people with a broader knowledge in collection than mine claims it's one of the best Italian S/8 prints ever released,

Hey Maurizio, thanks a bunch!

No suprise here, it's the best spaghetti western, if not the best western ever made. "Django" comes very close but is not as epic and surreal as "Keoma".
