Question to UGO GRASSI
When I start the motor of my Gs1200 projector, this one puts 2 to 3 seconds to start when the projector has not functioned for several hours. But when it is still hot, it starts quickly! I think that a condenser must have a problem! Do you now this problem? And do you know the condenser which is in question! I have a bad photocopy of the plan of the circuit which is not very readable! Thank you

Your opinion it's a way, but this defect is often caused by a malfunction of an internal switch.
If you open the posterior lid and give a look on the main board bottom the big fan, you'll see two little plastic boxes. In the first there are the switches for the foward play, in the second the switch for the rewind play.
The switches in the first box drive the main motor and the posterior arm motor.
The dirty or oxid on the switch contact causes the defect you talk about.
Yuuuhhh Kevin.... what is your opinion? [Smile]
(Kevin knows the electronic parts better than me).

Hello Ugo,
I think that you want to speak about the two relays! I also thought of it but how to introduce product cleaning inside, impossible to raise the plastic boxes! As how is it done as projector no presents any difficulty of direct starting when it already turned a few front minutes?

I'm waiting the Kevin's opinion

Thank you very much!

Right! Relays!
You don't have to spary a cleaner inside. You have to disassemble the main board, and removing the little lid over the relays, clean it by a very fine abrasive paper.
I did it and that GS works fine now.

Hi Guys, I think that the relays might be a possible cause but would think they would play up regardless of the machines temperature.
I have to say that I wonder if there is a very slow charging cap in the motor control circuit.
If you leave the machine for a day or two does this problem come back and is reverse the same as forward?

The problem came well from the relay! I cleaned it and now all works very well!

Guys

Do these relays also control the motor when you are in pause mode but trying to advance the film frame by frame using the forward or reverse buttons at the same time?
