Hi Mike,
I see you are "counting down" for your one year sabatical trip around the World. Sound's great, although you may have to sell your GS1200'S and film boxes to fund it! [Big Grin]
Seriously though, I want to wish you the very best and hope your trip is everything that you wish for. You will be really missed on the Forum, and I mean that.

Paul, you're very kind. [Smile]

I'm certainly counting down at the moment, but the excitement is tempered with just a little anxiety as we are selling our house to in part fund the trip, and of course it isn't going quite as smoothly as we had hoped.

We are hoping to exchange contracts on Tuesday and provided we do, then I shall be able to relax a little and begin to really believe it's happening.

I am due to finish work on 31st August and after tidying a few odds and ends we shall be heading off for Moscow in early September, there we pick up the Trans-Mongolian Express which should take us through to China and get us strated on our around the world adventure.

I shall certainly miss my daily visits to the forum, having been watching the forum since Derek Simmonds introduced the readers of the FFTC magazine to it way back in the beginning. I do feel as though I have made frends on here. Being able to meet up with you in person at the BFCC, Paul, Doug, Tom and Jean-Marc and all the members of the notorious Lightwater Six has made me feel a little less odd and alone in this crazy hobby.

You are all really great guys, I shall be watching the postings though from wherever I am as every time I log on at an internet cafe to check emails etc. I shall have to have a quick squint at the latest posts.

That said I shall be around for a while yet before I leave. [Wink]

Thanks agian for the good wishes.

Mike [Cool]

Hi Mike,

May I echo Pauls good wishes too?

Though we haven't actually met, despite the fact that we almost live on each other's doorstep, it's certainly been refreshing to read your posts and feel the fraternity which exists both in Sussex and the Forum at large.

Will you be returning to Sussex after your adventure - or is ir too early days to decide yet?? If so, perhaps we could get together in about 12 months' time or so. Looks a bit difficult to do anything beforehand as this is an extremely busy time for us, and I expect you are up to your eyes too.

Anyway - have a SUPER (8) time.

All the best,

Dave.

Mmh... Moscow. I loved the place. It was really mad working there for a while, a few years ago... Hope you like it.

So, can we expect to see the film of your trip around the world at the 52nd or 53rd BFCC?
