To day I mounted the new lamp from Superior Quartz. I have some questions.. my friends.
When the lamp is working I notice the light on screen isn't stable. For a little bit it goes up and down.
Do you think it's possible the reason is in the positioning?
For example: the HTI lamp has to have the "closing naval" of the bulb to the top oriented. Is it the same for your lamp?
Note that over the lamp holder there is a magnet.

Ugo, I have not found that the position of the nipple really makes little difference. The thing is that I have seen the effect you are talking of with the genuine lamps but it normally stops that effect once the lamp has been on for a while and gets nice and hot.

The magnet is for striking of the lamp. Without it or with it in the wrong position you will find it very difficult to strike the lamp. The lamp on a GS Xenon should strike within 4 - 6 pulses. If it takes a lot longer than this then the magnet position and orientation should be checked as very prolonged pulsing can, I am led to believe, cause damage to the power supply.

Kev.

GS1200 Xenon with Elmo 1.0...great combo along with a 16-CL Xenon for that super bright white light.
