I urgently need confirmation from you guys!
As my usual ritual, I consolidate all my 8mm purchase at my brother's home in UK before shipping it all together to Fiji.
I never bought from outside UK, but now I just got some stuff from Switzerland and want to ship it to UK. There are 5 x 400" films. They are second hand stuff and bought from Ebay with the price for 5 films is 19 EUR and plus shipping cost 13.5 EUR. Total invoice is 32.5 EUR.
If these films enter UK territory will there any custom and duty.

Any country thats part of the EU will go through our customs without having any duty put on top. In fact there doesnt even need to be a Customs declaration slip on the package any more. This is the case for packages in and out of the UK but the countries concerned must be part of the EU.
Kev.

Winbert, Switzerland is not member of EU so, normally duty taxes will apply. BUT, for small item value (in Greece this limit is 100 $US or euros) there is no tax. Greece is a member of the EU so normally similar (or same as the EU commands) laws apply in the UK also. If the value is above 100 euros, the taxes are 14% of the declared value, and to make you even happier: all items I bought from Switzerland, including films, cameras and heavy projectors, managed to escape the customs office. I even bought a used laptop without paying anything. The package had an "customs free" notice. Hope this helps.
