October 2nd

First attempt to run a full feature on the Towers with changeover!

SUCCESS 100%

Take up: Nice straight rotation, very little flange contact with film edges; nice tight film wind too!

Film transport: Nice and smooth no bounce or restrictions using the 35mm platter rollers;

Speed controls: Very easy to operate. Nice and steady at 19% full power @ 24 FPS

Mission Accomplished!!! [Wink]

Chip, I am humbled by your expertise at building these pro-like devices. Very impressive. Kudos.

It's amazing what the man does. Applying his expertise in 35mm theater projection to a custom-made super-8 cinema booth with changeovers and everything... I'm impressed. [Smile] Just look at the photos on the website... I think there's a reason why everytime Chip mentions his Towers to me, they're spelled with a capital 'T'. [Smile]

Sadly, I don't have that much expertise, I'm just happy to have cream of the crop projectors finally, (both keepers) and nearly all the optical sound features I really want.

By the way, Chip, I'm now up to 27 optical sounds features!!! The monster continues to grow!!!

Cream of the crop, Osi? I'm curious... last I knew you were looking for 600ft. reels because your projectors couldn't handle 1200ft. ones. Or did I miss something [Cool]

Osi - are the films you are buying...how is the color? I know that all my optical prints are definately getting warm, and some of the prints I got this summer were red/pink. Good to know the interest in optical is still out there. I have always preferred magnetic though, much better sound overall with mag.

Thanks to all for your nice replies.
