Hi Doug, four classics come to mind.
1 The Skeleton Dance. First Silly Symphony & still the best to this day.
2 Lonesome Ghosts. Disney classic with Donald, Goofy & Mickey.
3 Haunted House. Another Disney classic
4 Trick or Treat. Staring Donald Duck’s three nephews.
That is my top four & I have them all spliced on to one 600ft reel, Kids absolutely love them and it gives the big kids half an hour in the kitchen attacking the hot dogs.
Check out this link Doug if you want a synopsis of any Disney title.

Hello Craig, I'd be interested to know which distributor released the Disney Mickey Mouse short The Haunted House you mention as I'd like to add it to my collection. Doug, what about The Mad Doctor and The Runaway Brain as a Mickey Mouse double bill. Cobweb Motel and Spooks are a couple of Ub Iwerk's titles that might fit the bill too. Kevin

Kevin, it was released by Columbia. This film is virtually impossible to find on dealers lists these days. You might have some luck at the BFCC.

Cheers Craig, I have a number of Columbia cartoons all of which were originally UPA titles & I never knew they had released this early Disney title, I will start to hunt it down asap. Tom & Jerry in Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Mouse is another one that could go down well. Kevin.

Doug, if you're in the mood for Bugs Bunny, then I would suggest "Hair-Raising Hare." I would also recommend "Jumpin' Jupiter," a Porky and Syvester cartoon about alien abduction. A good Fleischer Superman choice would be "The Mummy Strikes." Personally I would screen Tim Burton's "Vincent," as Jean-Marc suggested, if I was fortunate enough to own it. It is so cool. SGB

Scott & the Forum Gang,
Bugs Bunny's Hair-Raising-Hare is definitely a winner. Is that available in S8, or just in 16mm?
Don't forget that Techno films released a Super 8 Bugs Bunny on Knight-Mare Hare. An Excellent showdown between Bugs and Merlin the magician.
The Disney Extract of Sword in the Stones' Duel of the Wizards, and Bedknobs and Broomsticks Beautiful Briny Sea, are fun and very good too.
Incidentallly, you may wish to expand the cartoon idea, and include Murder in 3D. It's a fun Pete Smith Specialty Short. Although it is not a cartoon, it works well as a fun Halloween treat. Someone on the Forum is selling a Super 8 Print.
I would not mind having a low fade 16mm on Hair-Raising-Hare.

I don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but the "Flip the Frog" cartoon entitled, "Spooks" (1932) Black and White, which has some clever gags. basically, it's just Flip sitting down to eat with a skeleton. Weird cartoon, to be sure. It was available thru Blackhawk films.

What great suggestions! Thanks to all. My decision (I only need one or two) will probably come down to what's available and what will reach me in time!
Michael, What's that about great minds thinking alike? On the program is the 3D digest of "Creature from the Black Lagoon". I have two of the Pete Smith 3D's, but I have more red/blue glasses than the red/green ones that those use.
