This has been discussed before, but I think it's time to throw it around again.
I average 2 or 3 times per month. Although I will say that october 2005 was a record at 9 screenings, including 2 nights that were double features. I think the record was made because I installed the Towers, and I've been testing them to make sure they work OK.
The only problem I've had was (35mm) clutch pressure. I think I found the culprit....the take up belt was too tight so the motor was bogging down. Some magnetic prints had WOW trouble, and opticals were just too horrible to listen. I opened the operating cover on the ST1200 and saw the film bouncing at the sound head area. Reducing the speed to the take up motor (35mm) didn't solve the problem enough, so I realized the tension adjustments had to be made. Now they're much better and I do believe the Towers are good.
35mm = The towers are designed with a 35mm projector take up clutch and drive motor system. It is these parts that needed the adjusting, and is not to be meant as the parts inside the Elmo projector.
Remember the Tower is designed to run the projector with reels on sepearate spooling devices, similar to David Adam's Spondon Spooler.
So now folks, how many times do you run a show?
