Hi to all! First of all i'd ask you to excuse me for any potential mistakes, you see i don't often speak or write in english. I recently found out that super 8 films are not really a forgotten era and the presence of this particular forum justifies my belief that film watching and editing belong to the most exciting interests. Since i was 10 i was desperately trying to persuade my parents to buy our own sound projector, rather than being stuck with a 200 ft plastic silent one and was jealus of everyone around owning those giant sound projectors and claiming that ours was just a toy compared with theirs! At the age of 20-1994-i bought my first sound projector at last!A chinon mv9000.Despite my inexperience it didn't take long to realise the unstable sound and noisy operation. But on the other hand,it seems it's build to last... I recently bought an elmo st1200d and it took me many hours of maintenance to make it reveal its remarkable capabilities-stable sound, sharp and stable enough image. Soon i'll also own a bauer t510 which i'll let you know about. I'd like to emphasise my happiness for being a member of this forum once again. And now a question: Where could i possibly find a focusing knob and the adittional mechanism for my st1200 as its knob plastic pin(axis?)is totally split into pieces? Any advice would be helpful! I hope my mesage hasn't tired anyone! Thank you Tassos

Kalimera Tasso, and welcome to the forum. For the knob try contacting Wittner in Germany, they seem to be able to track common obsolete elmo parts. Or keep an eye on ebay for a similar machine sold for parts.
