I have one of these in excellent condition that I've just been trying out after sorting out one or two minor problems like some wear on the guide below where you insert the film.

When I start the projector, there's what sounds like a split-second power 'surge'. It doesn't cause any problems, but it makes the indicator on the sound meter momentarily go high.

I'm so used to using a GS, that I can't remember if the above is normal for a projector like the ST-600, or whether it's something that might need attention. I'd be grateful if someone could tell me.

Adrian, that is normal behaviour on that model. I think you get the initial surge to get the motor up to speed quickly and then the motor control kicks in. I remember thinking exactly the same as you when I first had a 600. Dont worry it's normal.

GS1200 Xenon with Elmo 1.0...great combo along with a 16-CL Xenon for that super bright white light.

Many thanks, Kev. I've had so many projector problems over the years that it's great to hear about something NOT being a problem!
