Hey folks, I have a question for those in the know ....

I have just seen a 2X400 scope print of "Shout at the Devil" a good action flick from the 1970's

My question is: I know that this 2X400 is an "Ivers" release, and i know that they released a 3X600 foot slightly edited feature release. Did Ivers also release a 3X600 ft. scope version of this title?

I can't answer your question, but I would say that I'm virtually certain that no Iver releases were on 600' reels, so if you've seen one on 3 x 600', it was probably initially a 4 x 400' release.

Dear Osi,

Iver did release a F/L feature print in scope, but only about 20/30 prints were made before being told to withdraw it, as they only had the rights to an abridged feature of this title (as happened to "Gold" by the way, Iver brought out the feature, but only had a 2x400' rights), and as they had already produced a Scope 2x400, they never did anything about producing a Scope version of their abridged feature. I recently sold a F/L print of "Murphy's War" which was only supposed to have a 400ft edition, so Iver did quite a bit of 'under the counter dealings'.

Out of interest hat did that go for? Ive never seen that one in full length, was it scope Barry?

No it wasn't scope, it was panned and scanned, it was in B+/B condition and I think I sold it for about £120, if it had been mint it would have gone for a lot more, although the colour was still very good.
