Very encouraging to read comments in the latest edition of Derann's Film for the Collector magazine that Derann have printed more feature films in the first three months of this year than in the whole of last year and that 8mm sales generally are well up on last year too .
Be interesting to know which feature titles people have been buying.

I suspect 'Master and Commander' has something to do with that. Just the release of such a prestigious title can work wonders for other releases as it sends the message there's some life in the old dog yet.
Enthusiasm breeds enthusiasm and that is why this forum is important. As are the conventions.

Thats really is good news! It would be interesting to know what the most popular items are these days. I am thinking that the latest extracts, like Matrix-Freeway Frenzy, are selling well. I'm waiting for the next one .

Curiously enough, Derann's latest 8mm used-sales list states that Master & Commander is no longer available new. How come? They still offer all those other titles for sale new (that is, printed-to-order from their negatives). Did Derann have to give up the negative for M&C?

Hmmm,
I wonder if they were only allowed to make a specific number of prints from the negative before returning it. If so, I'd like to know the exact number of "Master and Commander" super 8 prints made. It's probably low enough to be in the "collectors item" catagory. Now everybody will want a print!
