Apologies for my prolonged absence from contributing, but, as I'm sure many of you will remember, we recently became grandparents for the second time, and a couple of weeks ago, our son got married. These events, coupled with my work load unfortunately precluded my involvement of late.

ANYWAY : -

Have had some dialogue with Mark Norton regarding this product. He found that the first two cartridge he bought, jammed after a few seconds of operation, despite winding on by hand initially to (hopefully) ensure smooth running.

I have found exactly the same, using my two different cameras.

Has anyone else within the Forum had similar problems? Naturally, we are both sending our cartridges back, but I wonder if others have returned any previously.

Look forward to any comments,

Best to all as ever,

Dave.

Bummer [Frown] I was going to try Cinevia but upon hearing this... might wait a bit.
However, I once heard that it was a good idea to smack the super-8 cartridge flat on a table once or twice before using it, in order to more or less "loosen" its contents and helping the film to run freely. I did that with my first E64T cart before shooting it and it came out perfect. Of course that might just have been coincidence and it might have come out fine either way, but my point is it can't hurt to do it.

Hi Jan,
Thanks for the advice. I'll certainly try it with another cartridge.

BTW, thanks for your response via the Filmshooting Forum too - just thought I'd cover both bases.

Best, Dave.
