Well, I can confirm that the Chinon SS1000 is for real. Unfortunately I don't remember much else, but judging from the photo this one seems to have somewhat fewer features than the SS1200, perhaps 800ft (rather than 1200ft) reel capacity - and I'm not 100% sure if this really is a stereo machine or merely a twin-track one, even though the seller claims it is stereo.
...AHA!! I found a webpage through Google which mentions the SS1000 (as well as the SS1200) with some specs for each... about one third down the page. Here's a Babelfish, um, "translation" ...
quote: F/1.3 OBJECTIVE 15-30 MILIMETER, LAMP 12/100. CAPACITA' MAX COILS 360 MT., INSERTION AUTOMATIC RIFLE FOR VIA OF SPOOL DENTATO, RETROMARCIA IN PROJECTION. THEY SHIELD INCORPORATED, SPEED SHIFTER!! ALL An ADDED GOOD S.8 FLOODLIGHT, LIGHT And POURED THEM In ITS FUNCTIONS, OPTIMAL The MODEL 1200 GREATER BROTHER OF THIS!!
