Hi John,

Really nice to hear from you, No things are not going to plan at the moment. I have found that my trusted GS is playing up so i really don't think i will be going down the route of modifying my GS as if i can get it fixed. Who's to say that something else might go wrong with it. Basically the problem i have is with the motor i think as it speeds up and down by it's self. I have had help from Kevin on this but can't take my self to dismantle it and just take out the motor so Kevin can look at this and find out what the route of the problem is as apart from this problem it normally runs like a dream.

I also had another set back today i was offered a 35mm Mutt tower for free in the states through the 35mm forum but i have just found out today it has been sold which i am very very annoyed about.

So really i am not having a good day, unless i find a fumeo Xenon Pedestal Super 8 projector which i have been told are very hard to come by or a Xenon Elmo i believe also very hard to find these days. Then maybe my film programme that will start at the Bristol film festival in November this year will have to be shelved and cancelled.

The GS will be fine Robert. What you are experiencing is a fairly common problem. The motors can be sorted out as can just about everything else in these machines. I've reached the point where I thought a GS was completely finished a few times in the past but they're all still running. The HTI machine was virtually six feet under before Mr. Parsons worked his magic. That had developed all manner of faults besides the arc lamp power supply going kapput but it's still here with us and now boasts the brightest output of any Super 8 projector known to man.

Robert, we must arrange a meet up so we can check this problem out for you.

Kev.

GS1200 Xenon with Elmo 1.0...great combo along with a 16-CL Xenon for that super bright white light.

Kevin,

Yes we do need to meet up sooner rather then later. But what will be the best way? I work in Belgravia in SW1, i know that you would be happy to look at the motor and test it first. If you can give me clear instructions on how to dismantle the main motor in question. My only worry that doing this it will not work the same as before when putting it back.
