I hate to be a pain but I am slightly confused although getting there.
I’m out of lamps for my GS1200’s having not purchased some for around 10 years but I can’t find the correct lamp with 4 winds of the filament. I have checked the two vintage ESC lamps I have here and they definitely have 4 winds. Having spent some time telephoning around and surfing (bet you did not know I had surf gear) it seems that the ESC lamps being offered for sale have 5 winds of the filament. If this is the case does it not make more sense to buy the lower priced EJL type, which also have 5 winds. These are still 24 volt 200 watts and side by side look the same as what is said to be ESC type being sold today.

Sorry to drag this one up but I do want to be 100% I am using the correct lamp with 4 filament winds for the 8mm gate aperture.

TA.

I've just put an EJL into one of my standard GS's and the light output is superior to the ESC it has replaced. And that had 4 coils on the filament.

However, the reflector was rather knackered so that probably explains it.

For the price Paul is charging on the Fuji ESC I'd be prepared to take the chance.

GS1200 Xenon with Elmo 1.0...great combo along with a 16-CL Xenon for that super bright white light.

Thank you all for helping me. Another pair of ears is always good. It is interesteing to hear others were as confused as I was, but as usual the Forum members have been a great help. You’ll understand my being cautious which lamp I ordered due to my new GS1200 purchase and I wanted to make certain I got it right. Some years since I purchased lamps for these as I had a good stock, but it was worth asking other user’s advice to see what was what. The projector I had recently purchased still had the original lamp in it from new so this was also of help to me although my other 1200 still had the 4 wind filament ESC lamp fitted.

I’m so used to using the 150 watt lamps in the Eumig 940 I had forgot all about the lamps for the GS1200. Must be showing me age.

Best wishes to one and all and thank you very much for help here, and also for the personal messages with sound advice.
