After several years in this hobby, I still haven't been able to establish once and for all, the correct nomenclature for each of the 4 sides of a projector! [Confused]

Sounds silly, I know, but what is the official concensus here?

We have the operator's side, the lens side, the far side from the operator, and the other one. [Roll Eyes]

I wonder if this question will provoke some amusing responses. [Big Grin]

During my 48 years in the industry I have always known the sides of the machine to be called:-

Side that you lace up = Operating side.
Side that the gears are located = Non operating side, or gear train.
Side the lens pokes through = Front.
Side behind the flicker shutter, or light source = Rear of Projector, or Arc lamp. (backside?)

Seems logical to me, Hugh, but I have seen all manner of descriptions over the years.
