I work in a school, and was away with colleagues in Germany at the time of the BFCC this weekend. So, I decided to look in as many photographic shops as I could, to find cine stuff, in memory of the BFCC I was missing! My findings suggest more useage of cine in Germany that the UK. Firstly, Kodak 64T Super 8 carts were readily available off the shelf in most of the shops I looked in. Secondly, one shop had a perfect condition Sankyo 702 in the window, with shelves behind that showing Canon Super 8 sound cameras, and Siemans 16 mm projectors. Plus, a lot more 35 mm camera films than any UK branch of say Jessops. Any comments?

It looks to be really big and still thriving over there even just going by ebay, looks like a lot more people bought in to it origionally as well so still lots more stuff about and a larger crowd still onboard.
Is there a german forum ????
Best Mrak.

I believe so that a lot of people in German are still using 8mm both for packed films or film shooting.

I can see from www.ebay.de more stuff are offered there. For 8mmm packed films, where we are here, there are a lot of choices which always make me envy. Unfortunatelly, I dont speak Germany.

cheers,

Hi,

besides eBay.de:
http://www.filmdose-berlin.de/
http://www.mediavana.de/ (under "Filme auf Celluloid")
http://www.hood.de/ (under "Alle Kategorien > Film & DVD > Film Sonstige > Zelluloid > 8mm")
Further details will follow as a PM (might take a week, sorry)

In a hurry,
Jörg
