Maplin have a 12 volt lamp described as "Low Voltage Metal Base Sub-Miniature Bulb with 120mm Flying Lead". Its diameter is 5.3mm and its length is 13mm.

This is their part number PG83E priced @ 69p.

Can anyone confirm that this will fit in the Elmo GS-1200?

Yes that is a good replacement. I have used them in the past with no problems.
