Last night I did another side-by-side brightness test of my GS versus my Eumig 938. The GS was fitted with the Elmo f1.0 12.5 -30mm lens, and the Eumig was fitted with the Kodak Ektar f1.0 non-zoom lens. With the GS set at the low lamp setting, the brightness was about the same. At the high lamp setting, the GS beat out the Eumig on brightness, but the Eumig had a much whiter light because the Elmo has a definite greenish tint to it! I tried a new bulb in the Elmo and still got that greenish tint, which I have to attribute to the Elmo lens. It's not noticeable by itself, but when you do a side-by-side test with another projector, it really stands out. Has anybody else noticed this, or is it just my particular Elmo lens? In terms of picture quality, the Eumig with the Ektar totally beat out the GS, with the Eumig having astonishing resolution and contrast, with lush vivid colors and shimmering grain from corner to corner. In comparison, the GS picture while very good, is definately sub-par with noticeably less contrast and softer focus. I've got to find a way to get that Ektar into a GS1200!
