I don't know whether this was shown on this forum before - well I could not find it: it's an opened Kodachrome 40 cartridge. The first picture shows the side with unexposed film, the second one the side with exposed film. I have marked a roller on a pin with a green arrow and the red arrow shows a place where the film has to turn 180 degrees without a roller - so it can only come around when there is loose film available from the transport at the film gate (this construction can often be seen in standard 8 cameras as well - they sometimes have a pin covered with rubber). The fresh film lies on a "plastic tray" (shines back in the picture) that glides and moves very easily. To be honest: when you inspect such a cartridge you have to ask yourself: "what could be our might not be lubed?" and "where is a possibility that film could get jammed?". Or have the Kodachrome cartridges been so much better than nowadays cartridges (I haven't opened one of them yet ...)?
