I have a friend who had an 810D. His problem is when showing a film, the sound will fade out. When he stops the film or puts it on reverse, the sound will return for a couple minutes and do it again. Not being a repairman,I didn't want to attempt to fix it unless I knew the specific remedy.Any info is appreiciated.

Could be sound head at the end of its life: the area around the gap is now so soft, that after a few minutes of playback, that area deforms and the gap gets too wide. Stopping the projection restores the original condition of the head, but only for avery short time. The next stage will be the total interruption of the gap, at which point he head must be changed. Beware: damage to the soundstripe possible.
