Can anybody guess what is the original title for the following synopsis of TJ episode:

quote:
Tom is fighting with Jerry and the house maid calls another cat (A Red Cat, he does look like a devil). This red cat becomes the enemy of Tom & Jerry. Therefore the two now team up to fight the red cat.

To maek you a better description, below are the screen shots of the said episode:

 -

Whoever can give me a right title, there will be a prize from Derann (ha..ha.a... just kidding).

Please help me.

Hi Larry,

You are right, you are an expert of TJ.

I have checked on you tube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VjwFTHqIhzg

it is exactly what I have now on super 8mm.

This is the same frame from youtube:

 -

Now my question how come 'Old Rockin' Chair Tom' never seen on Walton, Red Fox or Ken/MGM releases? (or maybe also Derann). It is only available from FO release.

And I also noticed some FO releases are not in the above companies' .

Can you guess what is the reason?

cheers

It can't be because of the "Mammy" character, as many of my Tom and Jerry Super 8 prints have the Mammy, (though some of them have the "irish housemaid" character that they did for re-releases of the Tom and Jerry's in our "politically Correct" age.)

Osi, I don't get it what did you mean.

Did you say because of the "Mammy" character therefore US and UK did not release some episodes? Could you explain more regarding this?

Hi Winbert,
Here in the UK anything which might be considered remotely offensive to Ethnic Minority`s is quickly withdrawn and never released again. Hence all the Tom & Jerry cartoons featuring "Mammy" are not allowed to be aired or released on DVD etc..

Regards
Stewart.

From Derann's catalog this is still available. Unfortunately, all of the DVD's, including Englands, are watered down versions with voice over replacements, not the original voice of Mammy-two-shoes. The only original versions are on laserdisc. And even 2 of the cartoons are altered, SATURDAY EVENING PUSS & HIS MOUSE FRIDAY, SAT EVE PUSS has a teenager in place of Mammy & MOUSE FRI eliminates the native dialouge. I only have the first 2 DVDs from UK and I was greatly diappointed when first seeing these.

Hi Stewart, thanks. I just knew about this. BTW "His Mouse Friday" is one of the TJ (only from Walton) most often seen on Ebay, hence was most popular release. While I consider this is the most offensive story.

Larry, do you know how many TJ episodes which are not released by either Walton, Ken/MGM or Red Fox but available from Derann.

I have also received another episode from FO which is not available from 3 companies above.

 -

It is "The A-Tom-inable Snowman". Is it available from Derann?

BTW, look at the same frames taken from re-release

 -

and

 -

vs

 -

the color spectrum is different. Do you think that because my print has faded (which is unlikely, because it is on AGFA) or when it was re-released, the creator did re-coloring ?

cheers,
