My Eumig P8 has sat dormant for 8 years...took it out put in a few drops of oil...ran it flawless for about ten 400 ft reels...then it started losing its lower loop, the film doesn't flutter it just slides through the gate with the upper loop getting big (like the claw wasn't grabbing the film).... I let it run without film for about an hour...and then it worked ok. But when the machine is turned off and turned on again hours later when cold the same problem occurs..... Does it need more lubrication? I theorize the oil is flowing better when the machine is hot. Right or wrong? Your thoughts are appreciated.

Hi Thomas
Check the claw tip for a ball of fluff caught on the fingers.
Clean the gate area. Sounds like the claw isn't going deep enough into the film sprocket hole for some reason. Usually trapped debris or fluff off the films.
good luck with it
