Hey Guys. I'm new here but not at all new to the film reel collectability and enjoyment field!!! haha.

I was lucky enough to pick up a PS1000 at a local thrift shop for 30$. Unfortunately it had a few issues, most I've been able to resolve without need of a manual, but one I haven't been able to so far.

The issue remaining is that when the film feeds through the gate it continuosly flicks back and forth making the image repeat. The sound plays fine, but the picture just jumps over and over and sometimes gets stuck and has burnt a few frames in my Super8 of Chaplin's Easy Street. I tested the sound with The Love Bug and Song Of The South (both Disney) and the sound is now flawless. The problems ranges from the tiny reels and then on the bigger 200ft reels stops and burns frames :-(

On my Bell & Howell projector when the frames would jump that way I'd hit the button on top and the frames would re-align, but this machine doesn't have that button which is slightly annoying.

Anyways a Super8 sound projector for 30$ was a deal I couldn't resist and its almost working 100%

I've checked the belts and they all seems to be running perfectly with no lag at all and they're not falling apart or anything like that.

Hopefully someone with a little more knowledge of this machine can help me out and resolve this issue. It's not easy to access the gate in this one, so its proven to be a little problematic.

P.S. the amount of film that was left in clumps in this machine was amazing. I torn it all out. Clearly the past owner didn't really know what they were doing haha.

P.P.S The switch on the back is 24 frames and not 18, as all my films play at 24 if that makes any difference.

A Jeckle & Hyde machine, to be sure. Packs a punch for its size and is really fun to use. When it doesn't cause trouble. Jams in this machine are the worst I've ever encountered due to the closed path. Otherwise, it's gently on film if the supply reel turns smoothly.

"The gate is difficult to access" is an understatement. You can do it through the lens barrel, but then you can only access a portion of the gate.

Mike, if you've found that much film debris inside, I'm wondering if your troubles are caused by more that you've not found. Have you removed the little metal plate over the sound head & roller and poked around towards the front of the projector? If you've looked at the belts, you've already gained access to other spots where film can hide. More than once I've cleared a jam, meticulously, only to find that another fragment was hiding in the area below and forward of the bottom loop. Hopefully you'll find an offending piece and it will run like a champ thereafter.
