Wouldn't it be just a tad dimmer? (Insert Dim Bulb jokes below)

The EJL-5 will operate at 185 watts at the 24 volts supplied by the GS1200 transformer. So you will lose a little brightness, but not very much. The EJL-5 will be perfectly safe to use since it has a higher resistance filament (3.12 ohnms versus 2.88 ohms for the EJL), so the current through the transformer will be a little less with the EJL-5.
But what is the advantage of the EJL-5 anyway?

Paul, I just happened to have an EJL-5 and didn't want it to go to waste. Thanks for the break down. Good info. [Smile]

Bill, I went to school with Tad Dimmer. He wasn't the brightest kid, but neither was I. I guess that's why we got along so well. [Big Grin]
