I picked up a Keystone K-109 at a garage sale for $15. I got a viewer attachment that I can't figure out how to use or what exactly it's for. It doesn't seem to attach to the projector very well either. Since I don't have any instructions with it, I was wondering if there is anyone on the forum that can educate me on this? The projector also has a still picture switch. How does that work? I'm afraid to try anything with it for fear it will burn the film. The projector works great, just needs a little cleaning.

Pull out the chrome cover over the threading light and the viewer will go in there. Film goes thru one side and out the other.

Thanks Barry, I tried it and it worked. So it's a mini editor. The tab on the side puts a notch in the film to mark a frame. The picture is tiny but you can make out what it is. So it has nothing to do with the still picture switch on the projector? I assume that is for stopping the film to view a still picture without burning the film.

Bryan: You are correct, it is an editor. The idea is to make the lower loop from the film gate large enough to thread the viewer. The instructions say to watch your film on the regular screen until you see a section you want to edit, and then stop the film and advance it to the viewer with the threading knob, then use the punch to mark beginning and end of edit area. Can't remember if 109 has the drawer in the base, but typically, there was a splicer in that drawer. I'd have to check my Keystones to be sure, but I think they have the filter that drops between the lamp and the film when you move to Still. The filter keeps the film from burning, but the image is not as sharp on the screen.
