I have a query for fellow collectors. In a plain white box marked "Jubilee Celebrations in London" came a 200ft colour Super 8 sound film. It shows the Royal Silver Jubilee of 7th June 1977.
It has no exploratory titling other than the opening and closing generic Movietone News logo and wording. However, the tail is marked "A 864". I know that many Walton films were proceeded with an "A". Does anyone know if it is indeed a Walton release? Perhaps it isn't as Walton were always keen to add their logo to films.

Maurice, it may be a Fletcher Film, I have 'A Queen is Crowned', and I believe they also did the Silver Jubilee called 'Jubilee Day'...

Walton Films catalogue No29 has The Queen's Silver Jubilee "London Celebrations" "Surrounded by thousands of well wishers The Queen lights the first of the Jubilee beacons at Windsor. The following day in London we see highlights of the royal procession to St Paul's, the Lord Mayors greeting" then the service, walkabout and balcony appearance. It is down as A864, so if it has the Beacon lighting that is it. Derann had a British Movietone News "Jubilee Day 1977", but this is just the procession onwards, so the Walton version has more.

Thank you Brian for the information that it is a Walton print. It does indeed include the lighting of beacons whereas the Fletcher print (which I also have) is 25feet shorter and does not have the beacon scenes.

I remember Movietone released 4 jubilee films. I once had all 4 on an 800ft reel from Perrys but had slight fade. All had the red movietone intro to them.
