I just got this super clean Elmo RS Editor but I don't know how to turn the knob that changes from S8 to R8. Anybody got ideas? I also need a manual for this. If you have 1 to sell or can copy I will gladly pay you for it. I have posted a pic for reference.

Thanks

I was just playing with an Elmo FPa projector from the same era and it was really odd to switch it from S8 to 8. You had to hold the reel steady and unscrew the sprocket. The spocket didn't screw off but it moved out to reveal a set or S8 sprockets. Maybe this is similar?

Hope this helps!

Hi Kirk

Well I figured out that the sprocket wheel(red ring on left in pic)is reverseable. You snap off plastic ring and turn it around for R8. But, I still can't figure out the middle knob that says super 8 in red and regular 8 in blue. It looks like it is supposed to unscrew but I am afraid to use pliers as this unit is like brand new and doesn't have a scratch on it. Thanks for your tip.

my guess is that dial with s8/r8 turns for the frame difference since the two are different my 912 is that way turn it clock wise it may be tough use your hand first if you use a pliers use a rag or something around the pliers so you do not wreck the knob. the colors must match red/super 8 blue/reg8 what is the white button above the on/off do push in?

HI Jim

I got it [Big Grin] I gently used pliers with a towel and it loosens. Counter clockwise. Just a turn and the drum lifts to change the framer to correspond with the sprocket. Red/Red etc. This little thing is really cool. It takes 400' reels and the screen even tilts out. The only thing I find odd is the the take up goes on the right and the pay out on the left [Confused] Nothing like having a new toy [Razz]

Pat

When you push that white button something moves down onto the framer [Confused]

I believe that is for marking your films when editing them

Jim

I believe your right [Razz] It has a point on the end that looks like it goes into a hole near the framer. Like a punch of some sort [Confused]

Thanks

Pat
