I've just had in a super 8 B/W Silent reel entitled "What Indians", it's brand new and sealed in a generic Mountain Films box (the one with covers of some of their releases (Genghis Khan, The Flintstones, The Blob), mostly, if not all silent), and I wondered if any forum member had it or new of it (I've a sneaky thought it may be an Abbott & Costello comedy, but not 100% sure), and I'm loathe to break the seal.

Any help appreciated.

My advice is to open it up and see for yourself unless the picture on the box give an indication.

I have recently bought two Mountain cartoons which they had retitled, but as they had splendid pictures on the covers I was able to see (before I bought) that they were Rudolf Ising cartoons from MGM.

I doubt if you have an Abbott & Costello as most of their films were from Universal which Mountain would not have had access to.

Maurice,

I'm not sure, as I've seen 200' Paramount Marketing titles in their generic boxes, I think they bought up what they could and pushed it out. I've had a few prints of the Doug McClure 200' "The Pirate's Haven" which was a Castle/U8 print in Mountain boxes, so who knows.

If I don't get the help from the forum, then I'll probably sell it as a surprise lucky dip print, after all it's only a 200' B/W Silent print, I'll never get much money for it!

Barry,

While What Indians does sound like an A&C release, it is actually Castle's abridgement of the 1966 western comedy Texas Across the River. Dean Martin and Joey Bishop (as an American Indian!) star.

Dear Doug,

Thanks, I might get an extra Pound or two now I know for sure what it is. I knew there would be someone out there who would know what it was.

Barry.
