Dear Forum members let me introduce myself,my name is
Hugh Scott,I live in the UK and have been collecting film since
I left school back in '69 but enough about me.I don,t know if any
of our members are aware but you cam still obtain soundheads
for Eumig projectors and also have your heads reprofiled which
i've had done on three of my machines so far and the difference
in sound quality is amazing.
There are two Companies that do this work that I know of and
have used and found them to be most satisfactory and very
reasonable in cost,they are;Head Technology,
11,Britannia Way,Stanwell,Staines,Middx,TW19 7HT
Tel; 01784 256046
I tried this number this morning but was told it doesn't take
incoming calls so my advice would be to write first.
The other is ;Summertone Ltd.,Woodside,98 Scatterdells Lane,
Chipperfield,Herts WD4 9EZX Tel; 01923 263220
This number does take incoming calls as I checked everything
out this morning and the gentleman I spoke to was pleased
that I was letting other collectors know of this service. So don't
chuck out that old machine because of muffled sound when
help is at hand.

Hi Hugh,
Thank you for the information .How much do they charge? do you have to remove the sound-head and post it to them or the projector as a whole ? thank you again
Regards
Leon

Hi Leon, the cost last year if memory serves correct was about
£25.00 and all you do is just send in the soundhead which if it's
a Eumig don't forget to switch the machine to "project"in the
forward position before removing the sound unit. Also it might
be useful if it's another make,to mark the wire colours for easy
reconnection.
