Austin,I think I know what you're looking for,it would be the very sturdy plastic ferrule that was supplied with the Eumig proj. It was very durable and having tried the other centres.I found them rather flimsy,so I opted to look for something resembling the Eumig centre I had misplaced.I found it in a plumbers supply store,it is actually a push fit straight fitting in white plastic used in central heating,it is the plastic insert that is used for your centre the hole is exactly the std 8mm size and just needs a small slot put in the end to allow it to fit snugly on your spindle.By fitting a rubber washer over the end,it stops the spool flying off, which can happen with some of these plastic centres.I've made a couple of these and not only are they completely trustworthy but they look good too.
