Am I alone in thinking that "MARS ATTACKS" would have made
a good release on the bootlace, sadly not to be.

Hugh

You are not alone. I would have loved a feature or at least a condensed version. Although so much of that film was good it would be hard to condense it. Those martians were hilarious!

... just to have that scene where the martian's ship keeps adjusting the fall of something on a crowd of people (as the crowd of people wisely try to keep from being squashed)

... and finally achieve it, to thier glee. I thought that was funnier than hell! They weren't just here to conquer ... they were here to humiliate!!

It never now seems to come up for sale but the trailer did appear on Super 8, on a reel that also included full and teaser trailes to 'The Nightmare Before Christmas'. Very nice print.

It sure did Adrian, and a great trailer reel it was, released by
Indy 8 as a Value For Money trailer reel along with a slew of other
titles that Barry put out.One of my favourite scenes in that film
is when the saucer hovers, and a huge arm appears and rolls
an equally huge bowling ball at the Easter Island effigy's.
I well remember when these bubble gum cards were available
and collecting them as a school lad, it's a shame that the giant
insects were left out, but that might have made it too horrific.
A pity that some Distributors didn't pick it up for an 8mm release as I think it would have appealed to young and old alike.
