Paul: One lamp from LSE inc. (Light spectrum enterprises) cost: 5.95 free shipping. Info: halogen 300 hrs. avg. life, color temp. 3400K. One lamp from Bulbamerica cost: 7.29 plus 1.99 shipping. Info. osram A1/231 50 hrs. avg. life. Did not provide color temp. Used two suppliers just to see if there was a difference.

There will most definitely be a difference. The long life lamp will have a slightly dimmer and more yellowish color as compared to the impressive output of the 50-hr. bulb.
Or so I'm told. Hey Bruce, you can confirm if all the rumors are true! Please tell.
