If I may give my two pence, I think it's useless to state what convention is the biggest and what is the smallest. You're lucky to have more than one convention in UK (Ealing, Blackpool, Tadley, etc.). I do hope that also Blackpool will go well, so this means that the hobby is still alive as the market, despite Derann's demise.
Here in Italy we do our best to organize a single Super8 Festival (that includes both screenings, competition and stalls) and there are other two conventions in Ancona (dedicated to sellers) and in Rome (dedicated to analogue media), but we don't defintely have this approach of competition between organizers...
