Has anyone had this issue before:

The record light on track one (Left) is on when the projector is powered on. No sound can be heard while playback. Its as if the record is stuck on? Thanks!

I would check all your switches at the rear panel Adam that they
are connecting as they should, it could be something sticking.
Have you had a look inside to check that something isn't laying
across the circuitry? Other than that, I wouldn't recommend
trying a fix, give it to a repairer as the last thing you need is any
of your film soundtracks spoiled.I know nothing of electronics,
but when someone needs a bit of help, thats the best advice I
can give.

I have taken it apart and noticed that the solenoid that activates the record function on track 1 engages when the power switch is activated. Something is triggering the solenoid to activate. But what? I know that these models have the ability to connect a remote control, could there be something in that relay causing this problem? Anyone on here repair these things? Please email me at onedelorean@yahoo.com. Thanks!

We have over here a wizard known as Bill Parsons,he is a member
of this forum Adam, I'm sure if you contact him he would be able to give some guidance, although it is difficult over distance.
Best of luck.

I have never been able to get a response from Leon Norris. I have a repair job for him, but if he doesn't bother to get back to me... Some Customer Service! [Mad] You can't get him on the phone and he doesn't call you back either! Has anyone ever been able to actually talk to him? [Confused]

Found a workable solution to my problem. I used the service manual to diagnosed it and it was a bad transistor. Until I replace it I disabled it by simply breaking the connection that it was making and to my surprise, i was back up and running with full sound again! Thanks to the forum for posting this valuable service manual. Otherwise I may not have ever fixed it!

Of course, until I replace the part I have basically disabled the record mechanism for track one. But oh well. Wasn't planning on recording anyways.
