I am searching 24v 250w lamp and found there are two types EMM/EKS and ELC.

Searching in this forum EMM/EKS is used on BH projectors.

Looking at the shape and the pins they are just the same. Anybody know what is the different between them?

No Pat, both are 250w.

(ps: you may get confused with ESC, which for this I knew it was 200w. But I am comparing with ELC)

Anyone knows?

Each is 24 volt, 250 watt.

EMM/EKS (A1/258) has large side pins.
ELC (A1/259) has small pins at its rear.

The former was used for a few years by Bell & Howell Filmosounds, but in later years they were superseded by the latter.

Thanks Maurice,

There is a shop in Canada selling EMM/EKS here for $5 each. I guess it is very cheap. I want to stock up but I don't know how big is the number of projector using this.

BTW, if I use an EJL to replace ESC on my GS1200 what will be the negative effect? both 24v 200w

No negative effect, just slightly dimmer due to the beam focus being larger for a 16mm aperture.

Winbert

The British Bell & Howell numbers often differ from those used in the USA.

Basically, the EMM/EKS (A1/258) started in the TQII projectors and then was continued with the green TQIIIs.

When the black TQIIIs came out they had the ELC (A1/259) lamps fitted.

These comments are not gospel, there may be a few during the lamp change-over period that do not comply with what I say above, but it's a good guide.

Thanks Bill....YAAAYY....the shop I mentioned has EJL for less than $1 !!!!

I ordered 10 bulbs. The brand is "Radiac"...I am not sure if this is familiar to you. But what a heck...it is only $1.

BTW, Dave Thomas (Super8Movieman) is also selling "Radiac" for $27 but this is labelled as ESC. I am not sure if this is just re-badged from EJL.

I will try to ask my shop if they have also ESC and report to you should they have.

cheers,
