Has this film been released in magnetic sound on super 8?

Note: I am referring to the 1977 film starring Roy Scheider about a four man team trying to move nitroglycerin over bumpy roads in a dense jungle. I always found this film to be really good, and nowadays, rarely seen.

Once again, another moment to kick myself in the arse, as I remember reading of this optical sound feature on a list many years ago, wish I had bought it then!

Osi,

I've never seen mention of a Super 8 release for Sorcerer. I don't believe Wages of Fear, the excellent Clouzot film that its based on, is out on 8mm either.

Thanks Doug ... perhaps a trailer reel had it?

Sorcerer was a pretty neat movie, and made great use of those wide scope shots. That scene crossing the rope bridge with that huge truck had me on the edge of my seat.

With that said (now that I have you druling), I don't believe it was ever released on S8 [Frown] . Like you said, maybe a trailer. There was even a delay on the original video release, due to dispute over rights (I believe Paramount and Universal both had stake in the film).

James.
