I am thinking of buy there and converting the to super 8mm. I want something that will handle 1200' reels. The seller says the shafts are 5/15 inch. Anybody got ideas or opinions?

Thanks

I have a nice Neumade 35mm rewind that I would like to use for Regular 8mm but the shaft is too large for the reels. I could drill out a Regular 8mm to Super 8 adapter to use it with Super 8 reels but I don't know how to get it to work with Regular 8mm reels. I have not tried this yet so I don't know how well it will work. One problem I see is there is no way to catch the reel from spinning free on the shaft. The peg that catches a 35mm reel is too large. I suppose I could glue the adapter to the shaft.

Bryan

What about changing the reel to super 8mm? Then if you run them on 8mm projector that only runs 8mm use adapters?

Pat, I was wrong, I just checked it again, the shaft is the correct size for Regular 8mm, it's just the catch that's too big to fit into the slot on the 8mm reel. I need to figure out how to keep the reel from spinning free. I will also need some spacers but that should be easy.
