A VERY rare Japanese Super 8 Release of Ultraman. It came with an accompanying cassette tape that I've transferred to digital and stored on my iPad. Should be a lot of fun!

Ballroom where we held the Super 8mm Monster Movie Marathon last summer in Chicago. I'm running two Chinon's and a B&H 36SR.
Used a small mixer for sound and for playing MP3's for a couple of the silents with homemade sountrax. Remember putting the tape recorder in front of the TV to get sound whenever a Godzilla movie played on your local station? Yup, me too.

Doug funny you should mention that as I was reminiscing (again) about just that yesterday recalling filming, oh only nearly 40 years ago off the box, then striping the film once returned from processing and recording the sound onto film as I also recorded the sound onto tape as well. A film journalist let me use his Eumig as I didn’t then have a sound projector and ultimately put an article together for a film magazine how I did it all. Happy days!
Tim. Your excellent event reminds me so much of the old days (here I go again) at the Festival of Fantastic Films which is still going strong although these days its video projection as well obviously. Back in the day it was all 16mm and those who attended will have many fond memories. Link http://fantastic-films.com/festival/index.html

I'm glad I'm not the only one who did that stuff! Where were you guys when my parents thought I needed professional help!
Lee- The Festival Of Fantastic Films looks great! I'm putting together a list of Cons I'll be attending to promote my new book, love to get over that way!
I'm also thinking of creating a "Super 8" Day here in Atlanta. I know a few folks who put on cons who have offered some assistance and I'm finding more and more small format film enthusiasts in the area!

Three larger frames used to display original 8mm boxes (empty of course) AND one for original catalogs. Ken, Captain Co, ETC ...(Displayed at last years Super 8 Monster Movie Marathon!)
I'll be making a new frame for 12 more 200ft boxes before the Monster Marathon! I've decided NOT to make frames for any of my 400 footers.
