Hi,
Wanted to know when i turn the machine on (turning the knob one step ahead) - there is a noise but the the takeup spool teeths do not work only on the 2nd step turning) - is that ok?
Same as on backword, what was the 1st switch made for? just cooling the machine?

the first position of control switch is for "still" picture, during which a heatshield should pop down between gate and lamp. same for reverse.
