hello everybody,as i m new to the super 8mm film world i would like to ask a question about my new hanimex SR 8600 sound projector...
although everything works when i play the film it plays fast both sound and picture...
i have two super 8mm films on 24fps(official releases, not home movies)and the speed button doesn't seem to react neither when i change it from 24fps to 18fps nor when i turn left or right the speed rheostat...
anyone knows???
is it the belt is it the volts is it something else???
thanks a lot... [Confused]

I haven't this projector so I may not be very helpful but as nobody else has replies, yet...Sometimes, if you're lucky, a problem is resolved by itself. I had my Eumig 932 (after a long time without be used as I have a lot of projectors and, sadly, had to put some of my material in a another place that where I live, so I am slowly bringing it back as I have a little more room) which had the rewind arm not running. I opened the back, just lifted once with a screwdriver the piece that was supposed to move and it was fixed. Then I had the speed (to come back to your question) that was too slow. I just ran the film back, ran the projector empty for one minute, tried again and it was also fixed. I supposed that you checked the voltage. I don't know if a belt can make a projector run faster. If it is that it is easy to fix. I hope it is not an electronic problem.

Sadly, it is not always so easy. I have also several projectors that have some troubles and that I will probably have to bring to some reparator. I just wanted to point out that sometimes it is a minor trouble. Another example is that I had a bulb which didn't work anymore. I just put it out and back and it works now.
